I’ve been remiss in posting a full writeup for each week’s Best Bites, but one of my New Year’s resolutions is to be more prompt about posting the Best Bites, along with the runners-up tasty bites. But to send off 2011, here’s an in-depth look at this week’s Best Bite.
One of my tastiest treats under the tree this Christmas was a tin of cookies — Santa’s elves packed me a tin of delicious corn cookies from New York’s Momofuku Milk Bar.
These cookies are so rich and buttery, packed with a unique corn flavor. They’re like cornbread in a sweeter, cookie form.
Interested in trying some of these cookies yourself? Milk Bar ships their cookies — visit www.momofukustore.comto place your order.
The Momofuku Milk Bar cookbook is available at Amazon, or our local Williams-Sonoma store in the Del Monte Center. The current issue of Lucky Peach magazine is available at Whole Foods, or subscribe here.
Or of course a quick Google search will point you here or here for a copy of the corn cookie recipe if you’re not quite ready to commit to either the cookbook or magazine — though you really should, both are great!
And if you’re looking for a shortcut, you’re in luck! Just this week, Williams-Sonoma started selling cookie mixes from Milk Bar. They’ve got prepackaged mixed for Milk Bar’s famous corn cookies, along with the compost cookie and the blueberries and cream cookie, available in store or online for $16 apiece.
And there you have it, three choices for getting your hands on one of New York’s treasures, a Momofuku Milk Bar cookie, all the way across the country.
