As we bid adieu to 2011, 2012 is already shaping up with a number of foodie events. One of the first out of the gates is National Spaghetti Day on Wednesday, January 4. Two local restaurants are planning pasta specials to celebrate this (obscure) holiday.
Fandango Restaurant in Pacific Grove will be serving a lunch special of Pasta St. Boyan–a traditional pasta dish from the south of France that’s served with sun-dried tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese and walnuts. The pasta lunch special will be available for $14.95 (tax, tip and beverages extra) on January 4.
And join in on the pasta party on Fandango’s Facebook page–post your favorite noodle story for a chance to win five free pasta lunches at Fandango.
Up the hill, Alberto’s Restaurant is also planning a special dinner to celebrate National Spaghetti Day.
Alberto’s will offer its favorite pasta dishes for just $10 (plus tax). Here’s the special menu for the evening:
Linguine Puttanesca with tomatoes, capers, anchovies and garlic in a light tomato sauce
Penne Arabbiata with spicy marinara sauce over penne pasta
Rigatoni con Salsiccia prepared with fresh tomatoes and Italian sausages
Ziti al Forno with ziti pasta in marinara sauce baked with ricotta and mozzarella cheese
Linguine Pomodoro with Vine ripened tomatoes, garlic and marinara sauce over tender linguine
For $5 extra, add a glass of house red or white wine.
Reservations are recommended for the evening–call 831-373-3993 to make yours.
