Monterey Bay Restaurant Week: The Haute Enchilada

Monterey Bay Restaurant Week is just a week away now, and the lineup has been growing. Today’s menu sneak peek focuses on a new addition to Restaurant Week festivities: Moss Landing’s The Haute Enchilada Cafe.

First course, choice of:
Roasted Pasilla chile bisque; salad of local Brussels sprouts with argula; or local artichoke stuffed with shrimp

Second course, choice of:
Pescado cubano catch of the day crusted in pistachios and served with black beans, quinoa and stuffed plantains; prawns Ibiza with fried eggplant and huitlacoche and served with artichoke risotto and garlic bread; or chile relleno Trotsky stuffed with cheese and squash and covered in a dark mole sauce and served with white corn salad.

Third course, choice of:
Spanish flan; ginger sticky pudding; or sugar-free caramel cheesecake

The Haute Enchilada’s three-course menu is $35, excluding tax, tip and beverages.

I haven’t been shy about my love for the Haute Enchilada. It’s a little out of the way over in Moss Landing—not exactly a culinary Mecca—but the food here is delicious! The Restaurant Week menu is a steal and definitely one I’ll try to take advantage of.
