Monterey Bay Restaurant Week: Carmel Food Company

Are you ready for Monterey Bay Restaurant Week, foodies? It’s just a few days away now. To whet your appetite, let’s take a look at the prix fixe menu awaiting diners at the Carmel Food Company.

First course, choice of:
Soup of the day; house salad with mixed greens, apples, carrots and a lemon chive vinaigrette; or arancini

Wine pairing:
Coppola “Sofia” sparkling wine

Second course, choice of:
Hungarian style beef goulash with lemon fettucini and creme fraiche; chicken “Fricasse” with mushrooms, asparagus, carrots and pearl rice; hanger steak with sauce Madeira and frites (add $5); or seafood of the day

Wine pairing:
Either Paraiso Syrah or Coola Directors Chardonnay

Dessert, choice of:
Seasonal berry crisp (with vanilla ice cream) or chocolate mousse

Wine pairing: Sandeman Founders Reserve Porto

Carmel Food Company’s prix fixe menu costs $25, with wine pairings an additional $30. Tax and tip aren’t included.

The Carmel Food Company is a pretty good deal, even outside of Restaurant Week. And this menu highlights some of their best options—namely that arancini, seriously the best in town, if you ask me.
