Interesting news hit my inbox yesterday: Bistro Moulin is preparing for an encore performance of their popular Argentine tango dinner. Here’s the scoop:
Feel the romantic embrace and the nostalgic melodies of sensual Argentine tango as dancers David Chiu and Nance Hoeft transport you to Buenos Aires, the birthplace of this truly extraordinary dance. Sip south American wine from grapes hand-picked at the world’s highest elevation vineyard and enjoy an Argentine-inspired menu prepared by Chef Didier. Join us Sunday, October 23, at 6:30pm for this intimate evening of food, wine and tango.
The tango dinner is $50 per person (tax, tip and wine not included). The menu includes some classic Argentine favorites:
Empanadas Argentinas with fresh garden herb salad
Dorado Chimichurri and ginger-lime Basmati rice
Grilled Hanger Steak with Malbec Sauce and Fingerling potatoes
Fresh Berries and Mint Ice Cream
Colleen has also picked out some Argentine wines to accompany the evening’s special dinner:
2010 Crios Torrontes
Aromas similar to Viognier, it has lovely structure and acidity. Displays ripe and vibrant fruit flavors, excellent balance. Juicy and long yet still quite dry.
$8.50 glass, $32 bottle
2009 Bodega Colomé Malbec
Elegantly structured and deep purple in color, with hints of licorice, blackberry and pepper, this wine begs for a good steak. Bodega Colomé vineyards are biodynamically and sustainably farmed at altitudes of 5,500 – 8,500 feet and are the highest known vineyards in the world.
$12.75 glass, $48 bottle
And of course the regular wine list is also available.
The tango dinner filled up fast last time around, so call the Bistro now to make reservations: 831-333-1200.
