Reading this week’s Dining Out column, I realized I never shared the update I got about Bistro Moulin’s upcoming Argentine tango dinner, namely, what’s on the menu. My apologies, readers! So what sort of Argentine fare can diners expect? How about:
Empanadas Argentinas with fresh garden herb salad
Dorado Chimichurri and ginger-lime Basmati rice
Grilled Hanger Steak with Malbec Sauce and Fingerling potatoes
Fresh Berries and Mint Ice Cream
They’re also pouring some special Argentine wine selections to go along with the Argentine feast:
2010 Crios Torrontes
Aromas similar to Viognier, it has beautiful structure and acidity. Displays ripe and vibrant fruit flavors, excellent balance. Juicy and long, yet still quite dry.
$8.50 glass, $32 bottle
2009 Bodega Colome Malbec
Elegantly structured and deep purple in color, with hints of licorice, blackberry and pepper, this wine begs for a good steak. Bodega Colome vineyards are bio-dynamically and sustainably farmed at an altitude of 5,500 to 8,500 feet and are believed to be the highest vineyards in the world.
$12.75 glass, $48 bottle
