News from the Point Pinos Grill

My friend forwarded me the monthly newsletter, Table Talk, from Aqua Terra Culinary this weekend, and I couldn’t help but share this nugget on recent goings-on at the Point Pino Grill:

As Chef Dory mentioned – summer’s in full swing – and so is Point Pinos Grill at the Pacific Grove Golf Links. If you haven’t yet heard: Point Pinos Grill is now under management of AQUA TERRA Culinary.

With AQUA TERRA chefs heading up the menus, and a creative & experienced team in the kitchen, we bet you’ll love every bite.

If you’ve had the pleasure to dine with us before, we still have all the favorites. Such as the Point Pinos Burger – piled high with everything you could want, from housemade tomato relish, smoked bacon, an onion ring and topped with fresh avocado.

There are some new additions coming to the menu for the summertime, with the Heirloom Tomato and Goat Cheese Tart piled high and topped with Castelvetrano olives and Saba dressing as one of the choices. Or, try our new Chicken with Sweet Corn. For breakfast, we’re introducing Green Chile Waffles.

Summer time and the newly acquired Beer and Wine License also lead to the extension of the hours of operation.

Starting this week, the Point Pinos Grill kitchen will be open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 7 pm with a mid-afternoon menu and drinks available. Towards the end of July, the new small plates menu will be introduced for the afternoon and we will be serving our mid afternoon and small plates menu until 7 pm daily. There will be numerous wines by the glass and specialty beers to choose from, meant to pair perfectly with the small plates, while enjoying the panoramic views from our patio.

The restaurant is also the perfect place to host your meeting, party, reception or any other event. Take a look at the Grill’s events page for details.

Got questions? Give us a ring – or, make reservations – at (831) 648-5774. See you soon!

My first bites of Dory’s food at the Point Pinos Grill a couple weeks ago took me right back to the glory days of the Portola Restaurant. Those new menu items sound delicious, so I’m sure another trip over to the golf course will be in order shortly. In fact, I wanted to try the green chile waffles this morning, but I didn’t get my act together in time to get over to the Grill before breakfast service ended. (They serve breakfast until noon on Sundays.)
