Fresh off the heels of her class this past weekend, baker Stephanie Stein is taking signups for next class, Farm Fresh Baking:
Learn to utilize the bounty of the season in rustic, whole grain baked goods. Come and have fun with Happy Girl Kitchen’s baker, Stephanie Stein, and she leads you through the hands on baking process. We’ll use more than just cups and kitchen aids, but our hands, eyes, and tastebuds as well, to gain the full sensory experience that baking can be. Expand your baking repertoire to include more whole grains that are not only more healthful but result in tastier, more complex foods.
This class features three recipes–peach pie jars with whole-grain crust, strawberry shortcake with vanilla bean whipped cream and a savory onion tart with goat cheese and seasonal veggies–all made with produce procured from the local farmers market. (That’s right, this workshop includes a good old-fashioned field trip to the farmers market to pick up ingredients.)
The class will be held at Happy Girl Kitchen (173 Central Avenue, Pacific Grove) on Sunday, June 31. The class is $110 per person, and includes a light lunch.
