I’m not generally one to nickel-and-dime dinner. Good food doesn’t come cheap, so I’m willing to spend the extra pennies when dining out.
But about every other Thursday, just before payday, my bank account starts to feel the crunch of my culinary excess. Luckily, Montrio Bistro serves up a deal that’s tasty on the tongue and easy on my wallet.
For $21.95 per person, Montrio’s Dinner and a Movie package gives you a prix fixe two-course meal at Montrio and a movie ticket for the Osio Cinemas down the block. It’s a great way to sample Montrio’s cuisine if you’re on a budget. The menu features such staples as the fire-roasted artichoke and the “Bistro” burger.
I usually pick up the oatmeal-crusted Brie, and pair it with the daily fish or pasta special. If you can afford to splurge, add an extra small bite. My favorite? Bacon-wrapped, chorizo-stuffed dates. (Sadly, when I visited Montrio this past week, I didn’t see this small bite on the menu any longer. But there are still plenty of other tasty small bites to choose from to jazz up the Dinner and a Movie deal!)
What’s the catch? The deal is only valid Sunday through Thursday, with occasional blackout dates. But, the combo makes a great weekday date night. And you don’t even have to use the dinner and movie ticket on the same night — as long as you redeem either on a Sunday through Thursday, you’re in the clear.
Pick up your combo ticket at Montrio Bistro (414 Calle Principal, Monterey).
