Who says you can’t have dessert first? On Thursday, December 6, four regional pastry superstars will be hosting Dessert First!, a pop-up dessert dinner at Sand City’s The Independent in conjunction with the next Independent Marketplace. Yep, you read that right: dessert for dinner.
The event brings together pastry chefs from four superstar local restaurants–Yulanda Santos of Sierra Mar, Stephanie Prida of Manresa, Ben Spungin of Marinus and Ron Mendoza of Aubergine. They’ll prepare a four-course dinner, served family-style, along with take-home treats. (Cocktail pairings will also be available at an additional cost.)
Proceeds from the dinner support local non-profit MEarth, aimed at inspiring students to understand, appreciate and protect their natural environment.
